14.1 Repairs to Plaster

  • Work Description: Includes cutting patches and preparing wall surfaces. Patches of 2.50 square meters and less are measured under this item.
  • Scaffolding: Erected as required for the proper execution of the work. Ladders or jhoolas may be permitted instead.
  • Cutting: Mortar of the patch where the existing plaster is cracked or crumbled is removed, and the patch is cut to a square or rectangular shape.
  • Preparation of Surface: Exposed masonry joints are raked out, and surfaces are washed and kept wet until plastering begins.
  • Application of Plaster: Mortar of specified mix is applied, finished even and flush with the old surrounding plaster.
  • Protective Measures: Doors, windows, and other parts are protected from splashes, and damages are cleaned.
  • Curing: Done as per plaster work specifications.
